The New Media
I've concluded that the traditional media has abandoned its proper role in our society – to serve as a watchdog for its citizens over our government and other powerful groups whose motives may be suspect. As a result, I read blogs for much of my political news. Of course, authors of blogs are certainly not inherently more trustworthy than the individuals that make up the mainstream media – being a history major, I’ve been taught to question all sources. Not simply to distrust every view point, but to corroborate as many details as possible on a particular subject.
